The Curacao Ostrich Farm
The Curacao Ostrich Farm first opened its doors in 1995 and has since evolved into a popular tourist attraction for people of all ages. The farm was initially founded as a means to export ostrich eggs, chicks and meat to South America. It turned out there was more interest in the farm than just from South America. Many people were curious about ostriches and the idea rose to switch to a touristic enterprise. The first owner of the farm started with 100 ostriches, 50 males and 50 females. Nowadays there are approximately 200 adult ostriches on the farm and on average about 200 chicks. During the conversion to tourism, the souvenir shop and restaurant Zambezi were opened.
The farm is constantly evolving. There are plans to further enlarge the farm to make it even more attractive for its visitors. Recently the Quad tour was added to the range of activities on the farm, allowing visitors to enjoy Curacao nature off the beaten track.
The Curacao Ostrich Farm is led by a team of enthusiastic people who will go to great lengths for you to make the most of your visit. Their enthusiasm, effort and knowledge will make your experience unforgettable and something to cross off your ‘bucket list’.
